Riverside—The Big West Track & Field Championships began in earnest Friday with day one of the multi-events, but the Highlanders were dealt some bad news before the meet even began. Danielle Littleton, the number one ranked heptathlete in the conference heading into the championships, was unable to compete due to a sore hamstring. She will be re-evaluated next week to see if she can compete in next week's single-events.
